Brits Vets: Dr. Gerhardus Scheepers ( 1 week )
- Mixed practice with 70% small animals, 20% large animals and 10% wildlife.
Hhluvukani Community Clinic: Dr. Greg Simpson ( 4 weeks )
- 60% Large animals and 40% Small animals.
- Community awareness and extension – rabies campaigns and primary health care of domestic animals including school talks.
- Foot & Mouth control dip tanks – Herd health, farmer talks & treatments.

Wildlife Elective in Kruger: Dr. Peter Buss, Dr. Marcus Hoffmeyer and Dr. Roy Bengis (2 weeks)
- Tranquilization and immobilization of Buffalo, Elephant and Rhino.

Wildlife Veterinarian: Dr. Christiaan ‘Bossie’ Bosshoff ( 5 weeks )
- Tranquilization and immobilization of Sable, Zebra, Buffalo, Nyala, Rhino, Wildebeest, Impala, Roan, Tsessebe, Lion.
- Tuberculosis, Corridor and Brucella testing of Buffalo together with State Veterinarian Dr. D Brugman.
Employment
Hartbeespoort Animal Clinic (December 2011 – April 2012)
- Responsibilities included the day to day running of the practice in addition to veterinary responsibilities such as medicine work up, surgery, herd health.
- Veterinarian responsible for the Zoo – working with primates such as chimpanzees, and various species of monkey. Carnivores such as lion, tiger, couger, leopard, serval, wild dog etc… As well as a large variety of reptiles including various snake, lizard and tortoise species. Other mammels such as sealions and meerkats etc…
- Supervising Senior Veterinarian was Prof. Ken Petty.
Limpopo Wildlife Vet (April 2012 – Present)
- Responsibilities varied between chemical as well as physical capture of a number of different species including Elephant, White/Black rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Gemsbuck, Tsessebe, Nyala, Kudu, Impla, Steenbuck, Lion, Cheetah, Serval.
- Work includes routine capture and translocation as well as clinical medicine work up and disease control and minor field surgery.
- Supervising Senior Veterinarian in Dr. Charles Van Niekerk.
Interests and Activities
- Veterinary Interests: Wildlife (Immobilisation and breeding), small animal surgery, large animal practise.
- Outside Activities: Golf, water-skiing, wakeboarding, surfing, social touch rugby, fishing, birding.
- Outside Interests: Sports, travelling, music, motorcross.
